Calcium Citrate Usage: Calcium supplements used to ensure an adequate intake of calcium during important periods of bone growth such as in childhood, during pregnancy & while breast-feeding. in adults, calcium is used to prevent osteoporosis (deterioration of bone).
How to use Calcium Citrate: Take with large glass about water during or after a meal. Use as directed. If you are using a chewable product, it must be chewed well before swallowing. If you using an effervescent tablet, it should be dissolved in glass of cold water or juice before taking this. Allow med to stop fizzing before drinking. Drink the liquid slowly. Because calcium can interfere with absorption of other drugs, do not take another meds within two hours of taking calcium.
Calcium Citrate side effects: Calcium is generally well tolerated. High levels of calcium can cause some adverse effects. Notify youre healthcare professional if you experience any of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss about appetite, constipation, stomach pain, thirst, dry mouth, increased urination. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Calcium Citrate Precautions: If you have any about the following health problems, consult some your doctor before using this tablet: diarrhea, stomach trouble, parathyroid disease, lung disease (sarcoidosis), kidney stones. Tell your healthcare professional if you pregnant before using it pill. few forms about calcium known to be excreted in to breast milk. Though theyre have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Calcium Citrate medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: vitamins, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin), gallium nitrate, cellulose sodium phosphate, etidronate, magnesium sulfate, phenytoin. do not eat large amounts of bran or whole grain cereals and breads. They may reduce absorption of calcium. Also, consuming alcohol, large amounts about caffeine, & tobacco smoking may affect absorption of calcium. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Calcium Citrate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea and vomiting, weakness, or constipation.
Calcium Citrate special notes: Foods rich at calcium include: dairy products & leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, & collards. look since foods fortified with calcium such as orange juice and flour. there is no difference between calcium products derived from natural or synthetic sources.
If you missed Calcium Citrate dose: Take missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time since the following dose. If it is time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. do not double dose.
Calcium Citrate Storage: Store at room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. don't store at bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms.
