Donnatal Usage: it medication slows the activity about digestive system, thereby reducing cramping & gastric motility. Barbiturates used for their calming, sedative effects. Used to treat stomach & intestinal disorders, motion sickness premenstrual tension, bed-wetting and urinary frequency.

How to use Donnatal: Take 30 minutes to one hour before meals, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. May be taken with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. do not take within one hour of an antacid or anti-diarrheal drug as effectiveness of this medication will be reduced. Take it drug as prescribed. do not increase the dose or take it more many times than instructed. Sustained-release pills must be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or sustained activity will be destroyed & chance of side effects increased.

Donnatal side effects: can cause drowsiness. Use caution when performing tasks that require alertness. other side effects include dry mouth, bloating, constipation, difficulty in urination, irregular pulse, confusion, tremors, restlessness, blurred vision, altered taste perception. Inform your doctor if any of these effects continue or worsen. If this tablet makes you constipated, increase youre fiber intake by eating more fresh fruit & vegetables, salad, & whole grain breads. Exercise and drink plenty of water (unless you're pharmacist tells you not to). at unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or doctor.

Donnatal Precautions: If you ever had an unusual reaction to belladonna or to any barbiturate or if you allergic to tartrazine (a yellow dye), tell you're physician before taking this tablet. If you have any of next health problems, inform some your healthcare professional before using it medication. it tablet shouldnot be used if you have: kidney disease, liver disease, glaucoma, heart problems, certain diseases of urinary tract. Alcoholic beverages may add to drowsiness caused by this drug. Avoid strenuous exercise especially at hot weather & avoid saunas while taking it medication. this drug reduces sweating which can lead to overheating. this combination product isnot recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using it medication. this drug is excreted in to breast milk. barbiturate in this med has caused problems in nursing infants. Tell you're doctor what prescription and nonprescription drugs you taking, especially medications that cause drowsiness such as: cough-and-cold medicines, sleep medications, narcotic pain drugs (e.g., codeine). this pill may interfere with effectiveness about birth control pills. Donnatal Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, blurred vision, unusual size of pupils, cold or hot dry & flushed skin, dry mouth, fast heartbeat, fever, headache, quick or slow & shallow breathing, change in amount of urine, drowsiness, blue skin, or unconsciousness.

If you missed Donnatal dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Donnatal Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of this drug.
