Clomipramine HCL Usage: this medication is used in the treatment about Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). this may take two to 3 weeks before the full effects of this medication noticed.

How to use Clomipramine HCL: Take this medication exactly as prescribed. When 1'st taking it medication, you're pharmacist may increase youre dose gradually to determine best effective dose. it drug may be taken with food to prevent stomach upset. do not stop taking it medication without youre doctor's approval. Nausea, headache or fatigue can occur if the tablet is suddenly stopped.

Clomipramine HCL side effects: this medication can cause drowsiness, dizziness, increased sun sensitivity or blurred vision. Use caution performing tasks that require alertness. it medication may initially cause dizziness and lightheadedness when rising too quickly from a sitting or lying position. Change positions & get out of bed slowly. other side effects may include heartburn, weight gain, dry mouth, strange taste in mouth, anxiety, restlessness or sweating. These effects should subside as some your body adjusts to medication. Inform your pharmacist if they continue or become bothersome. Notify some your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, difficulty urinating, nightmares, ringing in the ears, excessive sedation, uncoordinated movements, fainting. Males may experience sexual dysfunction while taking this medication. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Clomipramine HCL Precautions: Before using it medication tell some your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: glaucoma, prostate problems, decreased urine output, thyroid disease, breathing problems, seizure problems, alcohol use, heart disease, mental/emotional problems, liver or kidney disease, drug allergies. this medication can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear sunscreen & protective clothing. Limit alcohol while using this drug to avoid excessive drowsiness. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly, because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the tablet (e.g., confusion may occur or worsen). this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. this drug is excreted into breast milk. effects on infant not known at this time. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Clomipramine HCL drug interactions: Inform your physician about what drugs you take especially of: medications used to treat an over-active thyroid, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), other tranquilizers, medicines that make you excited, hypertension drugs, narcotic pain medications (e.g., codeine), SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, fluvoxamine), other drugs you use (both prescription & non- prescription), St John's wort. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

Clomipramine HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include flushing, quick or irregular heartbeat, dry mouth, drowsiness, confusion, agitation, enlarged pupils, seizures, & loss of consciousness.

Clomipramine HCL special notes: Taking this medication in bedtime may help minimize side effects such as day time sleepiness. speak to some your physician about this.

If you missed Clomipramine HCL dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if Its almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
