Alphanate Usage: Antihemophilic factor is a protein in the blood necessary in forming clots to stop bleeding. it drug is used to temporarily prevent or control bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia.
How to use Alphanate: this tablet is given by injection into a vein. rate of injection depends upon patient response but is generally injected over three to 10 minutes. the powder & dissolving fluid should be warmed to room temperature before combining if they were refrigerated. After adding the dissolving fluid, swirl vial gently to completely dissolve powder. do not use the mixed solution if you find any floating particles in this or this discolors. drug must than be started within 1 to 3 hours depending on the product. it may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. the dose & frequency of use of it drug will be determined by you're condition, weight & situation. Follow you're doctor's instructions closely & be sure to ask any questions you may have about this therapy.
Alphanate side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Mild chills, nausea and irritation at the injection site may occur. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Alphanate Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: other illnesses, any allergies (especially to animal proteins). Because this pill is prepared from people blood, there is a risk of contracting virus from using this. Careful screening of blood donors, special manufacturing methods & FDA-approved tests all used to reduce this risk. Discuss this with your doctor. You should bucks your heart rate before & during injection. the dose or rate of infusion may need to be changed if your heart rate is too fast. this drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. It's not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Alphanate drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every over-the-counter & prescription medications you may use. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or healthcare professional approval.
Alphanate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual tiredness; simple bleeding or bruising; or yellowing eyes or skin.
Alphanate special notes: Blood tests will be done frequently to determine dosing and evaluate effectiveness of this drug.
If you missed Alphanate dose: Its important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss dose, contact your physician to establish new dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Alphanate Storage: Store the medication according to manufacturer's instructions. check the expiration date on label and properly discard any unused medication after that time.
