Q Bid DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies and another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Q Bid DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting meds must be swallowed whole with full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.
Q Bid DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1'st few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your physician if you develop any of these effects while taking this drug: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Q Bid DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional youre medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts of this drug found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Q Bid DM drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Q Bid DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Q Bid DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Q Bid DM dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Q Bid DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
