Bethaprim Ds Usage: this antibiotic is used to treat wide variety of infections including urinary tract infections, middle ear infections & respiratory tract infections, including pneumocystis pneumonia.
How to use Bethaprim Ds: Take each dose with a full glass of water. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. liquid suspension form of it medicine must be shaken well before each dose. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine at your body is kept at constant level. Do it by taking the drug in evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to take this pill until full prescribed amount is finished. Stopping med too early may result in a relapse about the infection.
Bethaprim Ds side effects: this pill can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting. If any of these effects persist or become severe, inform your pharmacist. the sulfa in this combination medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Notify your physician if you develop: easy bleeding or bruising. rarely, this medication can cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate doctor attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Bethaprim Ds Precautions: Tell you're physician some your medical history, especially of: liver or kidney problems, asthma or other breathing problems, blood disorders, allergies (especially med allergies). Because this medication may make you prone to sunburn, wear protective clothing & sunscreen. this medication is not recommended since use in infants younger than 2 months. this drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. use of this drug isn't recommended near term. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre healthcare professional. this drug is excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding.
Bethaprim Ds drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all the medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: warfarin, oral drugs to treat diabetes, methotrexate, oral PABA, phenytoin, methenamine, cyclosporine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Bethaprim Ds Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, depression, blood in urine, and loss of consciousness.
Bethaprim Ds special notes: this medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. don't use it later for another infection or give this to someone else. different med may be necessary.
If you missed Bethaprim Ds dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If It's nearly clock for following dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
