Prochlorperazine Maleate Usage: this medication is used to control nausea and vomiting. it is also used for anxiety.
How to use Prochlorperazine Maleate: Warm suppository under lukewarm water or at your hands. Unwrap suppository & moisten with small amount water. Lie down on your left side with the right knee bent. Push the suppository into rectum with your finger. Remain lying down for a few minutes & avoid having bowel movement for an hour or longer so drug will be absorbed. do not use more about this medication then prescribed.
Prochlorperazine Maleate side effects: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though very unlikely to occur, notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erection. in unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or physician.
Prochlorperazine Maleate Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history especially about: very high or very hypotension, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness such as driving or using machinery. Use of alcohol can cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol use. this drug may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure & wear a sunscreen and protective clothing when you exposed to the sun. this med can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid strenuous work or exercise in hot weather. manufacturer of it drug does not recommend Its use during pregnancy. However, it may be used in certain cases. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Certain drugs closely related to this one (a phenothiazine) are excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Prochlorperazine Maleate drug interactions: Inform your physician about every the medications you use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: anti-depressant/anti-anxiety meds, sparfloxacin, grepafloxacin, guanethidine, guanadrel, metrizamide, cabergoline, lithium, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine), drugs used to aid sleep, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), any other tablets that may make you drowsy. many cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add a drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your doctor or doctor about the safe use of those products. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Prochlorperazine Maleate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include restlessness, muscle spasms, tremors, twitching, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, & seizures.
Prochlorperazine Maleate special notes: don't share this medication with others.
If you missed Prochlorperazine Maleate dose: If your dosing schedule is 1/day, use missed dose as soon as you remember that day. If missed dose isnot remembered until next day, skip missed dose & resume your regular schedule. If some your schedule is more than one dose daily, use missed dose if you remember within an hour. If you do not remember until later, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. in all cases, do not 'double-up' the doses.
