Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Genecof HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever and another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Genecof HC: Take this tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this pill is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
Genecof HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to the med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre physician. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Genecof HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this med causes you to feel drowsy. check it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your physician. for small amounts of this drug found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Genecof HC med interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Genecof HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Genecof HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Genecof HC dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Genecof HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
