Aloxi Usage: it medication is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. it works by blocking hormone (serotonin) that causes vomiting.
Aloxi can be used also for: it medication may also be used to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery.
How to use Aloxi: this medicine is injected into vein (intravenous-IV) as one-time dose 30 minutes before chemotherapy begins. Repeating a dose within 7 days isnt recommended. Aloxi side effects: Headache, constipation, diarrhea, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify you're healthcare professional or healthcare professional promptly. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're pharmacist. this isn't known whether this drug passes in to breast milk. Breast-feeding isn't recommended while using this drug.
Aloxi medication interactions: Before using this drug, tell your doctor or pharmacist about all prescription and nonprescription/herbal goods you may use, especially about: anthracylines (e.g., doxorubicin, daunorubicin), 'water pills' (diuretics). another drugs besides palonosetron which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation in EKG) include dofetilide, pimozide, procainamide, quinidine, sotalol, & sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely death, irregular heartbeats. Consult your physician or pharmacist since details.
