Q V Tussin Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Q V Tussin: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.
Q V Tussin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the first some days as you're body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre physician. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or physician.
Q V Tussin Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history about drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. for small amounts about this drug are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Q V Tussin medication interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure pills, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this med. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Q V Tussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Q V Tussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Q V Tussin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take this if it is near time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Q V Tussin Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
