Dextromethorphan/decongestant/antihistamine - oral
Genebrom DM Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. it combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Genebrom DM: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase some your dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets should be swallowed whole with full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased. liquid suspension form about this medication should be shaken well before using.
Genebrom DM side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur the first several days as you're body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify some your doctor if you develop any about following effects while using this medication: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Genebrom DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're doctor promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. since small amounts of it medication are found at breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Genebrom DM drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood pressure tablet, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain drugs (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. don't start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Genebrom DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, sweating, dizziness, headache, hyperactivity, bizarre behavior, seizures, slow or quick heartbeat, or unconsciousness.
Genebrom DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Genebrom DM dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Genebrom DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
