Donatussin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Antitussives cough suppressants used to relieve dry, hacking cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Donatussin: Take this tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase you're dose or take this more often than directed. it drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Donatussin side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur first some days as your body adjusts to tablet. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Donatussin Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, allergies (especially drug allergies). check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're pharmacist. since small amounts of it drug are found in breast milk, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Donatussin pill interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you use, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Donatussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, abnormal tongue or eye movement, slurred speech, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, change in amount of urine, unconsciousness, hallucination, sleeplessness, itching, or seizures.
Donatussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Donatussin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Donatussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
