Quintex HC Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. it combination drug is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Quintex HC: this drug is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take it tablet as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Quintex HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur the 1-st some days as your body adjusts to tablet. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Quintex HC Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this drug causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. it product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your physician. at least one of the ingredients in it combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Quintex HC medication interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Quintex HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Quintex HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Quintex HC dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Quintex HC Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
