Dometuss DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. it combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Dometuss DM: Take it tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & chance about side effects will be increased.

Dometuss DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1-st some days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your physician if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this tablet makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or pharmacist.

Dometuss DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with some your pharmacist. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Dometuss DM drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or doctor approval.

Dometuss DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Dometuss DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Dometuss DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Dometuss DM Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
