    Antibacterials - ophthalmic, otic

    Simular Drugs : Sulfac, Sulfacet R, Sulfacetamide Sodium, Sulfacetamide W Prednisolone

    Sulfac Usage: it medication is used to treat infections of the eye (ophthalmic) or ear (otic).

    How to use Sulfac: Use this as prescribed. Continue using it for full clock prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result at a reinfection. To apply eye or ear medication, wash hands 1'st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or tube or let this touch the affected area. Shake drops well before using. Hold the ointment tube in your hand for some minutes to make the drug flow easier. EYE drug: Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make a pouch. for drops, place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. see downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. With eye ointment, place medication inside lower lid using a sweeping motion. Close eye & roll eyeball. Remove excess ointment with a tissue. Try not to blink and do not rub eye. If you using another kind of eye drug, wait five to ten minutes before applying. EAR medication: Lie on youre side or turn the affected ear upward to make application easier. Place prescribed number of drops in ear. Avoid touching ear canal. Keep ear tilted for one to 2 minutes. small piece of clean cotton may be placed in ear to prevent drops from escaping.

    Sulfac side effects: this medication may temporarily sting when first applied. If it effect persists or worsens, inform your doctor promptly. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, redness, swelling or discharge (including the eye or ear area), trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Sulfac Precautions: Tell some your doctor your medical history, especially: every previous eye or ear problems, if you use contact lenses, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred after applying eye drug. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. it and all medications must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or when breast-feeding. Consult with your doctor if you pregnant or breast-feeding.

    Sulfac drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every medications you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: silver preparations, all other eye or ear antibiotic or corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone) meds. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

    Sulfac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Sulfac special notes: Throw away any unused part of youre prescription. don't save this to use for another infection. don't allow anyone else to use this medication. infection may spread to another person if you accidentally contaminate the med.

    If you missed Sulfac dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered; don't use if it is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Sulfac Storage: Depending upon the manufacturer, product may be stored at room temperature or refrigerated. Ask your pharmacist. do not store in bathroom. do not freeze.
