Methylene blue - injection

Methylene Blue Usage: it medication is used as diagnostic agent because of It's blue staining properties. this is also used in the treatment of cyanide poisoning and methemoglobinemia (a blood disorder).

How to use Methylene Blue: this medication is given by intravenous (IV) injection over few minutes by health care professional.

Methylene Blue side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, vomiting or bladder irritation may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, notify some your pharmacist. it tablet causes urine, stools & possibly skin to turn green-blue in color. do not be alarmed. Expect this effect. the discoloration will disappear when medication is stopped. Notify your healthcare professional if you notice: high fever, severe nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, chest pain, dizziness, profuse sweating. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Methylene Blue Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney disease, blood blood disorders (especially G6PD deficiency), allergies. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're physician. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.

Methylene Blue drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

Methylene Blue Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Methylene Blue special notes: this med is given by intravenous injection only.

If you missed Methylene Blue dose: this is usually given as a one-time dose.

Methylene Blue Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture. do not store in bathroom.
