Betamethasone Valerate Usage: this drug is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & other irritations.
How to use Betamethasone Valerate: Clean and dry the affected area before applying drug. To apply, gently massage very small amount about the medication into the affected area and surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover region treated unless you are instructed to do so by your doctor. don't use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this medication in diaper region. Avoid using it medication around eyes unless directed to do so by your physician.
Betamethasone Valerate side effects: it pill can cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when 1st applied to skin. it should disappear in few days as your body adjusts to the medication. this medication may also cause skin thinning & discoloration. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. Skin infections can become worse when using it medication. Notify your doctor if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Betamethasone Valerate Precautions: do not use this drug near eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate & augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively isn't recommended. do not use if there is an infection or sores present on area to be treated. Though very unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used it since an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies since up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or physician for more details. it medication should be used cautiously during pregnancy & only if clearly needed. Discuss benefits and risks with your healthcare professional. Small amounts about this drug may appear in breast milk. Consult with your physician before breast-feeding.
Betamethasone Valerate drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about every medications you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Betamethasone Valerate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Betamethasone Valerate special notes: Inform all your physicians you use (or have used) this medication. don't share this drug with others.
If you missed Betamethasone Valerate dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if this is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Betamethasone Valerate Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
