Quinerva Usage: this medication is used to treat or prevent malaria.
Quinerva can be used also for: this pill may also be used since leg cramps.
How to use Quinerva: Take with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Take this tablet as prescribed. do not increase dose or use it more many times than prescribed without consulting youre pharmacist.
Quinerva side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or pain & ringing in ears. These effects should subside as some your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your physician. this drug can cause dizziness or restlessness. Use caution when driving or engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you experience any of following effects, stop taking this medication & contact youre doctor: vision problems, allergic reaction (symptoms include flushing, itching, skin rash, breathing difficulties). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Quinerva Precautions: Before you take quinine, tell your physician if you pregnant or breast-feeding or if you have G-6-PD deficiency (an inherited blood disease), ringing ears, problems with vision, or history about blackwater fever. If you become pregnant while taking quinine, contact you're pharmacist immediately. If you ever had a bad reaction to quinine (or quinidine, drug for irregular heartbeat), tell your pharmacist. Before having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the pharmacist that you take quinine.
Quinerva drug interactions: Tell your physician about every other drugs you use (including nonprescription), especially of: acetazolamide, antacids, blood thinners (e.g., warfarin), cimetidine, digitoxin, digoxin, astemizole, quinidine. do not take antacids that contain aluminum or sodium bicarbonate without asking your pharmacist. Also, avoid tonic water and nonprescription cold preparations that contain quinine. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Quinerva Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include ringing in the ears, headache, slow or irregular heartbeat, nausea, stomach pain, confusion, dilated pupils, changes in vision, urine discoloration, increased sensitivity to the sun, and loss of consciousness.
Quinerva special notes: do not allow anyone else to take your pill.
If you missed Quinerva dose: Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for following dose. If this is clock for the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your regular schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.
Quinerva Storage: Store at room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
