Genaphed PLUS Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and improve breathing.
How to use Genaphed PLUS: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Its recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug, unless your physician instructs you otherwise. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or accompanied by high fever, notify your pharmacist. do not increase dose or take this more frequently than recommended. the suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
Genaphed PLUS side effects: may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability & dry mouth and nose. These effects must subside as your body adjusts to the tablet. If they persist or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify youre doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in ears, difficulty urinating. may cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly and be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Genaphed PLUS Precautions: Tell you're physician your medical history, especially about: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, HBP, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, med allergies. cash this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding. do not give it drug to a children younger then six years of age unless directed to do so by healthcare professional.
Genaphed PLUS medication interactions: Tell your doctor what drugs you take, especially of: high blood pressure drugs, anti-seizure meds, antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain medication, other cold or allergy drug. don't take this med if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within last two weeks. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or healthcare professional approval.
Genaphed PLUS Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose in kid may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.

If you missed Genaphed PLUS dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
