Kwelcof Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is narcotic pain reliever at a low-dose which suppresses a cough. this combination pill is used to treat a cough and symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Kwelcof: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often then directed. this med is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Kwelcof side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to tablet. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Kwelcof Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history of medication dependency, allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it pill causes you to feel drowsy. this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Kwelcof drug interactions: Tell your physician of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Kwelcof Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss about consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, and slow pulse.
Kwelcof special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Kwelcof dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Kwelcof Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
