Allfen DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Allfen DM: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more many times then directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets should be swallowed whole with a full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased.

Allfen DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify youre doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking it pill: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Allfen DM Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're doctor. since small amounts of this med found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

Allfen DM med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

Allfen DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Allfen DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Allfen DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Allfen DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
