Dextromethorphan/decongestant/antihistamine - oral
Deltuss Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat and itchy, watery eyes. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Deltuss: Take this med as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased. liquid suspension form of this med must be shaken well before using.
Deltuss side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your healthcare professional. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your pharmacist if you develop any of next effects while using this medication: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Deltuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, sweating, dizziness, headache, hyperactivity, bizarre behavior, seizures, slow or fast heartbeat, or unconsciousness.
Deltuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this pill. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Deltuss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Deltuss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
