Trelstar Depot Usage: Triptorelin is used to treat prostate cancer.
How to use Trelstar Depot: Learn all preparation & usage instructions in product package. If any about information is unclear, consult you're physician or pharmacist. Withdraw two ml of sterile water for injection into syringe, remove top of the med vial, and inject two ml about sterile water into the vial. Shake the vial well to thoroughly mix the medication. After mixing, this drug should appear as milky white suspension. Before using, check this product for any unusual particles or discoloration. If either is present don't use the liquid. Before injecting each dose, clean injection site with rubbing alcohol. Its important to change the location of injection site occasionally to avoid problem areas in muscles. Inject this medication into muscle (IM) usually once monthly; or as directed by you're doctor. it may take up to 4 weeks before full benefit of this drug takes effect. Learn how to store & discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist.
Trelstar Depot side effects: Temporary increase in prostate cancer symptoms (e.g., bone pain, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine), hot flashes, headache, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, trouble sleeping, or pain in injection site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your physician immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: unusual weakness/fatigue, tingling or numbness of hands/legs/feet, decreased sexual ability, dizziness, blurred vision. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: severe headache, vision changes, severe drowsiness, unusual or one-sided weakness. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immeditial doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Trelstar Depot Precautions: Tell your pharmacist youre medical history, especially about: kidney or liver disease, bladder problems (urinary obstructions), spinal problems (e.g., vertebral lesions), any allergies (especially to other medications that affect hormones like LHRH). this drug is only recommended for use at men. If used in women, this must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It's not known if this drug passes into breast milk. However, breast-feeding while using this pill isn't recommended.
Trelstar Depot drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about every prescription & nonprescription medication you may use. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.
Trelstar Depot Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Trelstar Depot special notes: don't share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., testosterone levels, PSA levels) may be performed to monitor your progress.
If you missed Trelstar Depot dose: If you miss dose, contact your physician to establish a new dosing schedule.
Trelstar Depot Storage: Store unmixed vials at room temperature (77 degrees F & 25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) is permitted. do not freeze. once mixed, the medication should be used immediately. Discard any unused portion of vial.
