Warning: this medication must be used only for serious infections because infrequently there are severe, rarely fatal, intestinal problems (pseudomembranous colitis) that can occur. Consult youre doctor or doctor for more details. Notify some your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain, or blood/mucous in your stool. you're doctor will decide if you require other treatment. These symptoms may occur weeks after stopping use of it drug. do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medications if you have these symptoms. These goods may make symptoms worse. your doctor will monitor you closely while you using this medication.
Clindamycin HCL Usage: An antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Clindamycin HCL: Clindamycin should be taken with food and a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your healthcare professional directs you otherwise. do not lie down since 30 minutes after taking it. oral solution of this product must be shaken well before using. Solution retains potency for 14 days at room temperature. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine at you're body is kept in constant level. Do this by taking pill at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping the med too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of infection.
Clindamycin HCL side effects: it medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, cramps, bloating & weight loss which should disappear in some days as your body adjusts to medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform some your healthcare professional. If diarrhea becomes problem, do not take any anti-diarrhea meds. Contact your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if the following effects occur: rash, hives, fever. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it med, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Clindamycin HCL Precautions: Before using it drug, tell your physician your medical history especially about: liver or kidney disease, stomach or abdominal problems (colitis), any drug allergies. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this drug. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Though no problems have been noted, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Clindamycin HCL drug interactions: Before you use this med, tell youre physician about any other drugs you are taking including nonprescription drugs. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Clindamycin HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Clindamycin HCL special notes: it drug has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use this later for another infection or give it to someone else. different medication may be necessary in those cases.
If you missed Clindamycin HCL dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless this is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for following dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Clindamycin HCL Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Follow label warnings about whether or not to refrigerate liquid forms. do not freeze. do not store in bathroom.
