    Guaifenesin with codeine - oral

    (gweye-fen-eh-sin with ko-deen)

    common brand names: Cheracol, Robitussin A-C

    Robitussin C Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Codeine is used to quiet a cough. this combination drug is used to control cough and congestion associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.

    How to use Robitussin C: Take this drug with food if stomach upset occurs. Take it medication as directed. don't increase dose or take it more much times or longer than prescribed. it is strong cough medication & must only be used since the condition & by the person for which it is prescribed. it should not be used for just any cough. it is helpful to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.

    Robitussin C side effects: Drowsiness, constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, dizziness or headache may occur the first several days as you're body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, itching, rapid heart rate. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Robitussin a C Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), substance abuse, allergies (especially to narcotics). Because it medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. since it isnot known if this medication is found at breast milk; consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Robitussin a C drug interactions: Tell some your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping tablets, seizure drug, muscle relaxants, drugs for depression, cimetidine, quinidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Robitussin C Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, and slow pulse.

    Robitussin a C special notes: do not share this product with others.

    If you missed Robitussin C dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the doses.

    Robitussin C Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and heat. do not store in the bathroom.
