Fero Folic 500 Usage: Iron is an important mineral used by red blood cells to carry oxygen through body. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) improves the absorption about iron from the stomach. this medication is used as dietary supplement to prevent or treat iron deficiency anemia.
How to use Fero Folic 500: this drug is usually taken once day as directed. it medication is best taken on an empty stomach but may be taken with meals if stomach upset occurs. Take this pill with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water, unless your physician directs you otherwise. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this medicine. Timed release capsules & pills are to be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them or long action will be destroyed & possibility of side effects increased. do not exceed recommended dosage.
Fero Folic 500 side effects: the majority of the human can take it medication with minimal or no side effects. Stomach upset may occur. Stools may appear darker in color due to the iron. don't be alarmed. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Fero Folic 500 Precautions: do not take ferrous sulfate (iron) without consulting healthcare professional if you have: ulcers, colitis or intestinal disease. this medication should be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding only if recommended by your pharmacist.
Fero Folic 500 drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: chloramphenicol, penicillamine, methyldopa, levodopa, cimetidine, quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxaxin, norfloxacin). Avoid taking iron at same time as antacids or tetracycline antibiotics. Wait at least two hours between taking iron and an antacid or tetracycline. Because ferrous sulfate can cause false results in tests since blood in the stools, tell physician or laboratory personnel that you take ferrous sulfate. Eggs & milk decrease iron absorption. Coffee & tea that is drunk with a meal or 1 hour after meal may also decrease iron absorption. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

If you missed Fero Folic 500 dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember; do not take if it is almost clock for following dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Fero Folic 500 Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom. Keep out of reach of children.
