Guiadrine Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guiadrine: Take this medication by mouth. it should be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew med. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. don't increase dose or take it more many times or longer than prescribed. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Guiadrine side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify you're healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Guiadrine Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. It's not known if this tablet appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Guiadrine drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping meds, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for hypertension. Tell your physician if you have taken any MAO inhibitors at last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Guiadrine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, quick or irregular heartbeat, and seizures.
Guiadrine special notes: do not share it product with others.
If you missed Guiadrine dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take if this is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Guiadrine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
