Phenavent Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. it combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Phenavent: Take it medication by mouth. tablets should be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. do not increase the dose or take this more often or longer than prescribed. Its recommended to drink plenty about fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Phenavent side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur first some days as your body adjusts to the drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this medication can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Phenavent Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk & benefits with your doctor. it isn't known if it tablet appears in breast milk; consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Phenavent drug interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping meds, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, drug for HBP. Tell your physician if you have, in last 2 weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.
Phenavent Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Phenavent special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Phenavent dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Phenavent Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
